Libera on Art

I don’t know about you, but virtual museum visits haven’t convinced me so far. Nowadays, this form of experiencing art is very much in vogue, and many cultural institutions compete to make their collections accessible to internet users. Yet after several unsuccessful visits and strolls through virtual halls, I finally came across something truly special!

I discovered that the collections of the Museum of Art in Łódź can be explored in film form. The guide through this extraordinary collection is Zbigniew Libera, an artist and performer born in Łódź. He strolls through the museum, tells stories, pauses at individual exhibits, and weaves various anecdotes into his narration. You can sense that he spent a lot of time at the Museum of Art in his youth.

The videos are part of a larger series titled “Guide to Art”, in which the artist talks about selected artists and phenomena of 20th-century art. Be warned – it can be addictive!
