This newsletter is a must-read for anyone interested in Poland, its culture, and its language! Even though Polish isn’t the easiest, it’s worth tackling this “French of the East” – with its nasal vowels and abundance of sibilants.

Every issue of the newsletter motivates me to learn all over again.

This bilingual newsletter conveys an enormous amount of cultural knowledge and brilliantly showcases the mindsets of Poles—thanks to spot-on translations often embedded in a historical context (e.g., luty, which in Old Polish meant "grim" or "harsh," referring to the frost).

The emails are both professionally grounded and entertaining, with a touch of irony that purely academic papers often lack.

I also find mnemonics and tips here on how to memorize vocabulary and idioms. The style is always warm, up-to-date, and reflects the shifts in modern Polish—including youth slang.
