Course: Polish, A1.4

This course is intended for participants who have already completed around 45 Polish lessons and have a solid grasp of the basics of the language.

The participants know four cases – nominative, accusative, instrumental – and are familiar with the genitive. They can talk about leisure activities and discuss their family, shopping, preferences, and daily routines. Additionally, they distinguish between the three genders (masculine, feminine, and neuter) and know how to correctly match adjective forms to nouns. They can apply plural forms.

  • Verbs of movement: Distinction between directed and repetitive movements, e.g. to go (I’m going to the store – Ich gehe in den Laden) vs. to walk/go regularly (I go to school every day – Ich gehe jeden Tag zur Schule).
  • Finding your way in the city: Orientation aids, directions, and useful expressions, e.g. Where is the nearest ATM? (Wo ist der nächste Geldautomat?) or Go straight and then turn left. (Gehen Sie geradeaus und biegen Sie dann links ab.)
  • Talking about landmarks: Describing places and attractions, e.g. In Krakow, there is a beautiful marketplace. (In Krakau gibt es einen schönen Marktplatz.)

To this end, we regularly organize tandem meetings — informal, free encounters between Poles learning German and Germans learning Polish. At these meetings, participants have the opportunity to practice both languages in alternating pairs.

The meetings are suitable for all language levels — from beginners to advanced learners. Teachers moderate the meetings (if needed), ensuring smooth progress and offering helpful support.

After each lesson, you will receive an email with a summary of what was discussed — including grammar explanations, vocabulary lists, and additional links. This allows you to easily catch up on missed material at home.

Thanks to the learning platform e-polish.eu, you also have the opportunity to work interactively on exercises, replay dialogues, and listen to audio, all in combination with the book you are familiar with.
